📸 Photography – Part 1
I’m an amateur photographer and began taking photos sometime in the 1970s, continuing until the middle of 2001. Mostly, I focus on nature photography and macro photography, and when the opportunity arises, texture photography as well. Occasionally, I also take street photos and documentary-style shots.
My first camera was a Kodak Instamatic, which worked well back then. I used it until I had the chance to buy a single-lens reflex camera—probably a Minolta SRT101—with three lenses: macro, 50mm, and telephoto zoom. I vaguely remember also owning a Pentax SLR, though I’m not sure when. It’s not like today’s digital cameras where you can easily see which camera was used to take a photo. These cameras are now just memories.
I wasn’t a major photographer like my brother, more of a casual one—and I still am. I don’t carry my camera everywhere. I shot with analog cameras until 2001, when my Minolta broke down due to sand in the mechanism while I was in Italy. Below are some photos I’ve taken and scanned from both negatives and developed positive film using the cameras mentioned above.
